What is this all about?
Righteousness Month is a time set aside for self-reflection and prayer before God. It is not intended to ever be used for "self-righteousness" or be another gimmicky movement. I started this project out of a desire of my heart to promote peace in a time where people are more often focused on fighting each other. Many of these people are concerned with being right, or "reaching", they hardly stop to think "what does the L-rd consider Righteous"?
And what is Righteousness?
Righteousness is not being selfish, or puffed up with knowledge of moral high ground. It's putting others before yourself, and most importantly, trying to live an honorable life before God and man. It's being humble, kind, and pure. Standing for good, even if it seems scary. Being peaceful and not violent. Speaking words of goodness and not things that cause pain.
You know, I'm not the best with words. Perhaps a good summary of what righteousness is can best be portrayed with a song?

Also, I love the peaceful feeling of the song's melody. I hope it fits the overall essence I want to be associated with this event. After all, the point of righteousness is not to be judgemental but peaceful and helping others.
And how does one participate, exactly?
There really isn't one particular set way a person participates in Righteousness Month. The main thing I want to promote is people humbling themselves as well as seeing God's goodness and His Righteousness.
As I initially suggested in the Official PDF, I like to promote the idea of having picnics with friends and loved-ones. Basically where you spend time connecting with others and being good to one another! Rather than bothering others or making a big show with a parade people just happily spend time together. Perhaps with some joyful songs or sharing praise reports with one another?
Of course you can also create artwork and hang up the banners! (Which more details about the banners can be found on the banner page or in the downloadable PDF!) The banners are fun sparkly-fabrics that serve as joyful reminders for the virtues they represent. Whereas creating and sharing artwork has always been a joyous thing between friends and can really bring people together! And obviously artwork is not limited to just drawing and painting... but I digress. I guess my point is, however you wish to express yourself is the best way. Everyone is unique and has their own special talent. Let that shine through.

And why did you start this?
I've been noticing a growing instance of hatred between peoples over the past several years. The internet is full of so much meanness and profanity. And the amount of stuff I often see in fandoms breaks my heart. I see kids being bullied for various beliefs, some of them my friends. Often smear campaigns filled with lies and twisting of words will run innocent people offline as they are unable to properly defend themselves. And from what I see these cancellations are not by people who genuinely care for truth or proper justice, but just to attack the target and anything associated with them.
Furthermore, I have been to so many different churches where more often than not I'm run off, for lack of better term. I want to speak about the Lord & His scriptures, and they just want to talk about dating or whatever worldly desires they wish to promote. Not to mention when they do speak about God's word, they seem to only listen to it with their words while their hearts are far away. Other people will then look at these churches and say "that is Christianity!" and they do not see my God who rescued me.
...
And thus, in June 2019 I was at work reading various tweets on my phone seeing people arguing back and forth of all the various news topics. As I read these tweets all these memories came to my mind at once as a flood. I remembered the corruption, the injustice I've seen happen to a close friend, and the way people will often act on what they deem to be justice for themselves. Seeing people go around trying to shove their ideals on others or attack if they think someone else is wrong.
With each argument or dispute, neither side seems to be doing anything in kindness.
I then silently spoke to myself "Why does no one ask ‘what does the Lord consider Righteous?’"
